Am I entitled to the web discount if I telephone to take cover?
Sorry, the discount is only available for online applications.
Is this site secure?
We have a secure server with 56bit encryption on our
secure socket layer (SSL), ensuring your details are totally safe and secure.
To give you some idea what level of protection this provides, it would
take 1000 computers (at the same time) 20 minutes to crack just a 3 character
piece of information eg.''1y6'. A typical credit card number and expiry
date is 20 characters in length!
We do not store or keep ANY customer records or credit card details
on our server.
Thawte Certificate
We are Thawte certified. This certificate acts as our digital ID card
and proves we are who we say we are. To obtain this certificate we
have had to prove our identity, location and authenticity.

Can I pay by credit or debit card?
Yes, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Solo and Delta. Sorry we don't
accept American Express or take Electron cards as these need to be
swiped. You can also pay by cheque if you prefer. Simply complete the
online application and before proceeding to the online payment facility
please print out the confirmation page as prompted and send the print
out and cheque to our FREEPOST address. Please note, that your cover
will not start until we are in receipt of your valid payment and completed
application.
How do I take out cover?
Simply select the choice of policy cover most suitable and complete the
online application form.
What information do you need to start cover?
We will need your name, contact details, DOB and the make, model, serial
number of each item you want to cover, it couldn't be simpler.
What is your '28 day money back guarantee'?
If you decide our cover is not acceptable within 28 days of taking out
your policy, we'll refund your premium, (in full within the first 14
days of the policy) or less a 10% minimum £15 time on cover charge
between 15-28 days. Subject to no claims being made and upon return
of your documentation).
Do you only cover UK residents?
Yes, to be eligible for cover you must be a UK resident and have a UK
residental address. Sorry, we are unable to cover you if you are resident
in Northern Ireland or the Republic.
Minimum / Maximum Age?
The minimum age we can insure is 16. The maximum age is 75. Public Liability
covered by the policy is only available for customers between the ages
of 16-75.
What is the maximum value you will insure my equipment for?
We cover equipment on our standard terms up to £15,000 in total
value and up to a maximum of £5,000 per individual item. We may
be able to cover equipment of a higher value subject to individual consideration.

What value should I insure my equipment for?
For items that can be readily replaced with a new one (or with a similar
model of like kind, quality and functionality) - the usual new undiscounted
replacement cost including VAT from a reputable dealer as at the commencement
date of the cover.
Can I add additional equipment or make changes to my policy
at any time?
Yes, call us on 02476 851030 or email us with your certificate number
and details - including the make, model, serial number and new replacement
value of any equipment you wish to add or details you wish to change.
We normally make the following charges when making amendments to your
policy. Mid term adjustments £5 Minimum, additional premiums are
charged at 50% of the extra cost for each 6-month or part thereof. For
a change of address we do not make a charge.
Is there excess on this policy?
Our equipment policy does not have an excess (the first part of the claim
you would be asked to contribute), but it does have a minimum claim
amount of £100. The mandatory Public Liability cover does have
a £500 Third party property damage excess, this would only be
payable if you were found legally liable for damage to another persons
property through your photographic activities.
Do I have to have any specific security on my vehicle or where I
keep my equipment?

Are there any items you cannot cover?
We cover most items with the exception of consumables such as batteries,
films, bulbs, leads and cables.
Do you cover computers/laptops/software?
Yes, we do cover the hardware, but only if its used for "Photographic" purposes
e.g.: editing, composing etc...Software can be covered as long as it
is purchased as a standard software package and can be reinstated from
a back up disk that is kept in a separate location and you have complied
with the manufacturers instructions.
Is my equipment covered if I take it abroad/ on holiday?
If you require cover outside of the UK you will need to select either
the UK/EU and 30 days policy choice or Worldwide policy if you intend
to travel more than 30 days outside of he EU in any policy period.
There is no limit on our Worldwide policy on the number of days you
are covered for outside of the United Kingdom.
Am I covered if I lend, loan or hire my equipment to another
person?
No - Photoguard only covers the equipment when it is in use or in the
care of the insured person. We do not cover you if you are hiring your
equipment out un-accompanied.
Do you operate a no claims bonus scheme?
Yes, we reward you with 5% off your total annual premium after two years
without a claim and 10% after 3 years without a claim.
I have previously made a claim does this affect my cover?
You need to disclose any property related losses or incidents that could
have given rise to a loss within the last three years. You must complete
this section of the application form as failure to disclose this information
could invalidate your cover. You must also disclose any material fact
such as criminal convictions for theft or dishonesty, if you have had
any previous insurance cover declined or any special terms or conditions
applied.
How do I make a claim?
To make a claim, call our claims hotline on 02476 851050 quoting your
certificate number. Alternatively, click here to download a claim form,
which should be completed and sent to us immediately. If you are abroad
and do not have the ability to download a claim form, we can supply

How can I recommend Photoguard to others?
We receive a lot of our business through personal recommendation from
our existing customers. To reward you for recommending others we will
give you a £5 discount from your renewal for every new customer
